Delta Dental is the largest dental insurer in Arizona, so if you have dental coverage through an Arizona employer, there’s a good chance it’s a Delta plan. Glisten Dental Studio on East Pecos Road is in-network with Delta Dental of Arizona, which means you pay the lowest negotiated rate, we file directly with Delta, and you don’t carry the paperwork. Here’s how your Delta coverage works and what you’ll actually pay.
In-network with Delta Dental of Arizona
Yes, we’re a contracted in-network Delta Dental provider. One thing worth understanding about Delta specifically: it runs two networks, Delta Dental PPO and Delta Dental Premier. The PPO network has the deepest discounts and the lowest out-of-pocket for you; Premier is broader but discounts less. We accept both, and we’ll tell you which network your plan falls under and what that means for your cost when we verify your benefits. Call with your member ID and we confirm it before your visit.
What your Delta Dental plan covers
Your exact percentages depend on your specific plan, which is why we verify directly, but Delta plans follow the standard tier structure:
- Preventive (cleanings, exams, routine X-rays): usually covered at 100%, often with no deductible. Most Delta plans cover two cleanings per year and don’t count preventive visits against your annual maximum.
- Basic (fillings, simple extractions, periodontal therapy): typically around 80% after deductible.
- Major (crowns, bridges, dentures, surgical extractions): typically around 50% after deductible.
- Orthodontics (Invisalign, braces): covered on many Delta plans up to a separate lifetime orthodontic maximum.
Your annual deductible (often $50) and annual maximum (commonly $1,000-$2,000 on Delta plans) determine the year’s ceiling. Many Delta plans exempt preventive care from the maximum, which means your cleanings don’t eat into the money available for bigger work.
We make Delta work for you
Dr. Dawood’s standard is that nobody gets handed a number and left alone with it. We pull up your Delta benefits together, walk through what’s covered line by line, and show you the out-of-pocket before scheduling. No surprises. We file your Delta claims directly and work hard to be your advocate when a claim comes back underpaid, because the benefit you pay for should reach your care.
What common procedures cost with Delta at our Gilbert office
- Cleaning + exam: typically 100% covered, $0 out of pocket on most plans.
- Filling: basic tier, around 80% covered.
- Extraction $200-$400 simple / $300-$600 surgical: basic tier, usually ~80%.
- Crown: major tier, usually ~50% after deductible.
- Single implant from $2,900 / Invisalign $4,500-$6,500: coverage varies; we check your plan’s implant and ortho benefits and quote the real number.
- Emergency exam $50-$100: most Delta plans cover it fully or close.
Most Gilbert families on Delta have two cleanings a year fully covered. If you haven’t used yours, book before the benefit year resets; unused preventive benefits don’t carry over.
